The Cambridge of England is a city in Cambridgeshire， England.It lies on the River Cam about 50 miles (80 km) north of London. The city's name stems from its location at the head of the river valley. It was here that the Roman commander Cæsar found himself confronted by the native Celtic tribes， leading to what has become known as the Battle of Camlann and the end of Caesar's conquest of Britain. In later years， the Anglo-Saxons called this land "Cambridgeshire" after the town of Cambridge， which they built inside the Roman fortress of Durocobrica. This means “home of Cambr”（古英语的“Cambridge”）
